Single Malt Whiskey Hazelburn 10 Years

Hazelburn is the third malt produced by the Springbank distillery, beyond the whiskey of the same name (and God forbid) and Longrow. While Springbank is distilled two and a half times and Longrow two, with the former slightly peated and the latter highly phenolic, Hazelburn stands out for its triple distillation and total absence of peat.

It begins with delicate mineral notes that blend nicely with elegant fruity notes: yellow peach and Williams pear, alongside vanilla that remains "calm" and apples that I would define as "fragrant" and very pleasant. As the minutes pass, the fruity side amplifies, with apples tending to become predominant and adding an extraordinary sweetness.
There is some light wood spice and a delicious touch of paraffin.

Full-bodied, it is absolutely creamy with delicate vanilla, lots of butter, fruit in quantity with apples and pears dominating, traces of honey. At the same time, despite having a powerful mouthpiece, it appears to be very balanced and harmonious, which is certainly an advantage.
There is also a pleasant citrus touch, with splashes of lemon that crown a good liquorice, light but classy.
There is also some shy milk chocolate, a little subdued behind the fruity notes but definitely welcome.
In fundis, a delicate white pepper. Everything coexists in peaceful harmony.
